Review: Named for the setting where key scenes take place, “Hunter’s Moon” used to be titled “The Orchard.” Somebody must have realized “The Orchard” sounds like some stuffy period piece featuring British actors in frilly gowns instead of a fright film. There is a small shop on site and a choice of hard standing and grassed pitches. The environment is beautiful and very peaceful, the Lodge is overlooking the pond where you can fish if you would like. Great potential for the future, just not there yet and we don’t feel like we got value on this trip Have just spent 2 days at Hunters Moon, what a difference from our last stay, the Lodge has been renovated and it is amazing! Didn't get to try the lodge for a drink or meal because of the covid 19. It's a good base for exploring the area with the Lulworth estate, Studland Bay, Corfe castle etc all within easy reach. Set within 3 acres of landscaped grounds this stunning park is a haven for wildlife and boasts walks, lakes and a river on site, with both coarse and fly fishing available. The lodges are very nice great big bed nice comfortable lounge ours was right next to the lake I wanted to give a score of good but not an option I can’t give very good as lodge wasn’t that clean needs a good deep clean kitchen was lacking a few items and the utensils and pots and pans supplied are of very poor quality no corkscrew a tiny frying pan 2 very small saucepans there was no dishes to put anything in microwave no sieve and no lids for saucepans so very difficult to drain pasta and vegetables but on a plus the Bed and bed linen was very good we paid for towels these were excellent quality big hot tub the location is great not very peaceful with very noisy busy pub close but we don’t go to bed that early so wasn’t a problem for us fishing was ok lots of small stuff but fun on the float rod I didn’t manage any carp but they are in there you can see them swimming around this place has potential to be excellent without a lot of money being spent so to sum up I have given an average score but it is slightly better than average and even with the small problems I would stay again Stayed here after our holiday abroad was cancelled.
