The story is great, the effects are great. The Middle • Jimmy Eat World. As of late Disney has not brought forth any movies I have loved till now, and between Jerry Bruckheimer, Nicolas Cage, Jay Baruchel, and Alfred Molina the movie had great chemistry. I saw this movie at the world premiere and I had the pleasure of congratulating Jay and Nicolas on this great Disney achievement. The movie has a fantastic sound track. Overall, fun and different.

Some of the tracks are a little repetitive, only slight variations on the same main theme (and some tracks are really short too and end suddenly).

Dueling sorcerers, a compelling back-story, top-notch acting talent, and the Disney brand bring the idea born of Fantasia's Sorcerer's Apprentice to the big screen in a live full movie adaptation. While this film did not fully live up to its potential, it is a fun movie which will find its way into the collection. Yes, the specials effects weren't all that, but we have to keep in mind that this is a movie for all ages. Unfortunately all this was wasted by casting the dismally tedious Jay Baruchel in the lead role, and demanding that he act in a knockabout comedy style which is jarring and out of place. 33 out of 44 found this helpful. Find music from The Sorcerer's Apprentice (2010). DJ Filmbur 5,173 views. The music and the fight scenes have Jerry Bruckheimer splashed all over them (can be compared to Pirates of the Caribbean). The Sorcerer's Apprentice does cater to a younger audience, but also provides enough action, suspense, and humor to cater to those of the older generation, making it a great family movie. It gives a nice feel of bringing the fantasy elements of sorcery into the modern day, without trying too hard to be hip, or just sounding like Lord of the Rings (though there are a few moments where it is similar.)
A consistent movie with some great performances and awesome special effects, it's problems lay in other things.

You can feel the nerdy awkwardness in Dave's themes too.
The soundtrack features lots of smooth jazz-style rhythm guitar sometimes done in a faux-flamenco style and mostly used for the more romantic and quieter moments.

However, the other two disciples of Merlin Balthazar Blake (Nicolas Cage), a descendant from a historical line familiar whose mission was defeat nasty witch and Veronica (Monica Belluci) defeat the evil and Balthazar catches Horvath in a magic recipient and Veronica merges with Morgana and they are seized in another vessel.

Sometimes the action and excitement works in delirious ways (a former Nicolas Cage vehicle, Con Air), and other times it sinks to new lows (Bad Boys II). Dave wakes up and rides the bus to school. Along the centuries, Balthazar unsuccessfully seeks out the Prime Merlian, the only sorcerer capable to destroy Morgana, using a dragon ring and he finally finds him in the present days in Manhattan. While this film did not fully live up to its potential, it is a fun movie which will find its way into the collection. Through out the movie Molina's character, Horvath, has a twisted mix of respect and hatred for Cage's character, Balthazar, and the two of them feed off the energy very well to create a great amount of conflict and excitement.
